Today would have been our Ladybug Nursery, Park Discovery, Aquatic Center Field Trip!
Ladybug Nursery has provided us with a virtual field trip!
Watch and enjoy then:
Spend the day in the sunshine (hopefully there is sunshine today).
Look for Ladybugs on the plants and flowers in your yard.
Discover a new thing about someone in your family.
Who was your mom’s best friend in high school?
Where did your grandma and grandpa meet?
Would your brother or sister (cousin) rather have a dog or a cat as a pet?
Eat lunch picnic style on the lawn.
Run through the hose (if it’s warm enough) if not finger paint with water on the sidewalk.
Write about your field trip. Tell me step by step what you did first, next, then, and last during your stay at home field trip. (See First, next, then last paper)

Tell students that in order to make it easier for someone else to read their work, they need to write their instructions on clean sheets of paper. This is called publishing.
Please have students rewrite their edited draft on a brand new sheet of paper (How to writing paper)

We are going to learn about different kinds of sharks. Read the bright yellow paper to learn about the different kinds of sharks. Use your shark book to write 3 facts about each shark. This can be done throughout the week as this would have taken us a few days to complete in the classroom.

Today we are going to write step by step instructions on how to make a sandwich. You have some pictures of sandwich parts. Please have students cut out the parts of the sandwich they want to use. (Make sure there are at least 5 things).
Using the worksheet 16.2 write a title for your instructions. I might use- “How to Make a Sandwich”
Then complete the box that says these steps tell you how to:
Have students use the cutout pictures to decide what the steps are to make a sandwich. After they have figured out the order of the steps, have them write a draft of the steps on 16.2 Save the How To Writing paper for tomorrow's lesson. The draft will be checked for capitals, periods and correct spelling.

Rainbow Math Craftivitiy. Solve the math problems in the circle. Color each half of the rainbow then cut out and glue together. Cut out math problem circles and glue to clouds. Find a fun place to hang up your rainbow.

CKLA Lesson 15 Happy Cinco De Mayo! This lesson is also available to watch on the next blog post.
Today we are going to start by playing a game. Please read the following directions and see if you can guess what I am doing.
Turn on the water.
I Get my hands wet.
I get 1 squirt of soap.
I Rub my hands together and scrub, scrub, scrub!
I Rinse my hands .
I Get a paper towel and dry my hands.
What am I doing? (Washing hands)
Now go find someone in your family and act this out for them. See if they can guess what you are doing. Make sure you follow these directions in order.
What do you want to end up with after you wash your hands? (Clean hands)
So when we write the directions for washing hands we could say when you have followed these steps you will have clean hands.
Remember good instructions always have a title too! We could say the title of these directions are “How to Wash Your Hands.”
So when we write this it would look like this
How to Wash Your Hands
