Please use worksheet page 17.1 and check the draft that students made yesterday by following the steps listed. Remind them that editing makes their writing better.

Tell students that in order to make it easier for someone else to read their work, they need to write their instructions on clean sheets of paper. This is called publishing.

Please have students rewrite their edited draft on a brand new sheet of paper (How to writing paper) 

Please read “A Rainforest Ride”
Please do worksheet page 18.1 Fix the sentences by adding the correct punctuation.

Shark Book (This is for Thursday and Friday this week) 

We are going to learn about different kinds of sharks. Read the bright yellow paper to learn about the different kinds of sharks.  Use your shark book to write 3 facts about each shark. This can be done throughout the week as this would have taken us a few days to complete in the classroom.

Today we are going to write step by step instructions on how to make a sandwich.   You have some pictures of sandwich parts. Please have students cut out the parts of the sandwich they want to use.  (Make sure there are at least 5 things). 

Using the worksheet 16.2 write a title for your instructions. I might use- “How to Make a Sandwich”

Then complete the box that says these steps tell you how to:  

Have students use the cutout pictures to decide what the steps are to make a sandwich. After they have figured out the order of the steps, have them write a draft of  the steps on 16.2  Save the How To Writing paper for tomorrow's lesson. The draft will be checked for capitals, periods and correct spelling.
Read “The Market”

Rainbow Math Craftivitiy. Solve the math problems in the circle. Color each half of the rainbow then cut out and glue together. Cut out math problem circles and glue to clouds. Find a fun place to hang up your rainbow.
